Wooooooooooow 🖤🤟
Too much DAW crap today.Keep it real 👍
Awesome tone Yegor!! Thanks for upload a video showing a dawless option with pedal blend signals, the Meshuggah part sounds killer! Greetings from Argentina!
Thank you, glad you found the approach useful :)
Respect man! MAD respect. I hate when people are like this is how it’s done then pull out a computer and load up a program! I’m just like bro are you serious rn. This is real musicianship right here actually knowledge u can use when playing . Don’t get me wrong that computer stuff has its place in recording and studio work but a vast majority of players are just playing at home alone or with their band and trying to experiment with tone shaping probably just to few pedals and the amps EQ . Good video man
Totally agree man! Thanks for kind words, means a lot. And I also glad you found this information useful. Cheers \w/
@@YahorZubkou hey man i've been wondering if an active bass is needed to get a similar tone or can i just use a passive bass to get the tone. Anyways great video man (sorry for the bad english, i'm not a native english speaker)
@@ChipTheePropeht Hi there! Your English is impeccable ;) As for the bass, it doesn't matter. The secret sauce here is to mix regular and distorted signals via a preamp or in a DAW (last step in the video). Hope this helps, cheers :)
Can I just use a pre amp with out distortion and blend or is it essential for this cause I already have a distortion pedal?
Blending is the secret for this method. You need to mix distorted and normal signals to retain both the low end and the clanky dirty topping. Without blending there's usually a sacrifice of one of the two.
r u use any IR/EQ on DAW?
Nothing in the daw, just raw signal ;)
🔥 🔥🔥
hi can i ask you, what happen if we still use real bass amp ?
Hi! The key ingredient is to blend a clean and a dirty distorted channels so if your amp provides that you're good. Otherwise you can put anything like my behringer or sansamp before the actual amp and blend there.
Tanks and you good metal player
THIS IS SO GOOOD
Killer
Dude you fuken rock
Thanks man!
Great job man!!! Did you use any IR? Which one? Thanks!!!
Thank you! No DAW magic was used there ;D
Sick!
Please do a playthrough of that lamb of god song!
Thank you so much!
Is it possible to get this clanky sound even without a pedal of some kind? Just through a amp and the knobs on the bass
You can get something similar, but really depends on your equipment. Before I got the same pedal he uses in the video (reason why I am here, bless this guy) I used to cut off the high and low frequencies from the amp and increase the mids. So try the following: - amp: decrease low knob and high knob to 40% -amp: increase mids to 60-70% - bridge pick-up full volume - neck pickup turned off - full volume on bass - if you have any knobs for treble and bass on your guitar, full-up the treble and play with the bass knob Depending on your set-up it might sound different, however I got a decent crunch following these steps (not as good as shown in the video, but still). After doing so play with the sound till you get something you like. Hope this helps!
@@ericavram5646 many thanks Eric, i will get to tuning right away! much appreciated!
Clear and informative video, thanks! Also the demiurge was sick
Thank you so much!
solid and clean, nice job
Thanks!
☠️🇫🇮💜🤘
What tuning is this even in?
Nice work. I’m struggling with this one. I need the tab! Lol the opening riff is killin me. I’m missing something😡
Dude, your a legend, thanks.
Playing like a god*
Bro thank you. Finally a tutorial without bullshiting for 20 minutes. Knowledge in a nutshell - thats what people need
Thanks man!
THIS is how the records should be mixed. with more noticeable bass. fucking sounds so full.
You can tell it will already be good because the DI has good character
What a about the tabs 🙏
I tried these settings on my Caline Wine Cellar (quite similar budget preamp), and it transformed it's fuzzy drive to something crushing and clanky like a Sansamp. Thank you so much!
You are welcome, glad I could help!
Your tone is spot on dude, even 4 years later!
спасибо за рецепт!
Goddamn!! Playing & tone on point dude. great stuff
Thanks so much!
Wow this sounds great! Thank you so very much! I'm tired of seeing of these people with 15 minute long videos using all these computer plugins and pedal boards with a kijillion other stuff. You are awesome!
Thanks so much man! Glad you found the video useful 😉
@@YahorZubkou dude of course! Im starting up a band myself, so I’m glad I got people like you helping!
Right?! Amazing job on the tone and explanation. Awesome advice and straight to the point. Love it!
Are you using two fingers for picking?
In this particular video it's two, yes. I do play with three fingers as well though
Good and simple explanation of the basic way to go about creating some awesome metal sounds! :) I do it very similarly, but with different pedals though the BDI21 was my first preamp pedal as well. For the price, it's an awesome piece of equipment!. Personally I use an EBS MultiComp and for drive I keep going back and forth between a Boss ODB-3, a Schalltechnik_04 GUMA Drive (Darkglass B3K copy basically) and a Darkglass Alpha/Omega Ultra.
Thanks so much! I feel like BDI21 does a good job for the money, although I would love to try pedals like EBS or Darkglass in the future.
@@YahorZubkou Actually I just re-did my sound so I don't need an amp-sim behind my board anymore. Theoretically this should make me more independent of which amp I use when going to the rehearsal room or stage. EBS MultiComp still doing the compression, then BOSS ODB-3 with no drive at all but a little pre-EQ. the 6-band EQ from the A/O Ultra and if I want drive, that's either from the A/O Ultra or the GUMA Drive depending on what sound I want. Love it so far.
Very helpful info. I am doing a solo metal project and am doing all the instruments myself.
That's so cool man, glad you found the video useful!
Nailed the tune !!!!!! great!!
Thanks so much!
Wow....nice cover man, greetings!
me encanta!<3
Awesome good ;)
Ohh Man ! Yegor you saved my day to tweak the rite sound for Metal Bass,...i am a kind of Rookie to Metal sound engineering,...Big Thank´s Love Cheers from Sweden,...ure the best man. ;)
Hej! Thanks for kind words, mate. Glad you found the video useful. Cheers!
How do you manage to get that "clingy" (steel-like) sound? I have BDI21 and I am really happy with it. Should I get a compressor pedal?
Hi! Check out my video "Metal Bass Tone", maybe you'll get your answers there. Cheers :) Regarding compressor: it's not the key part of the chain to get that kind of tone. It certainly helps but it's more important to mix clean and distorted signals. That's where the clankiness lies.
@@YahorZubkou Yeah, I have already checked it and I thought it was because of the bass. But seeing that you are also playing with a GB, I guess the tone comes from somewhere else. What do you mean by mixing clean and distorted signals? My signal is; bass-BDI21-XLR (audio interface) and to Logic Pro X.
@@unknown-nj3kt Cool! By mixing I meant the blend knob on the BDI21. As you've probably seen in the video it's when I blend dry and wet signals the magic happens :)
@@YahorZubkou Oh, I see. Thanks!
where can i find some tabs for this song
online just give it a Goog bro...
твоя девушка довольна, наверно
Could you make a video with a tab for "leave me alone" i really want to learn it although my bass is a 4 string
Hi! I suck at making correct tabs plus it would be a disservice to you. I'd heavily advise you to try and transcribe it by ear 😉
